Treasure Hunting

Daily performance project, Paris, 2011

I divided a map into a grid, with months as rows (vertical) and days as columns (horizontal). Each day, I visited the corresponding area on the map based on the date, and collected discarded objects found within that designated section. I documented the GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) of each object’s location and gathered them as materials.

Each day’s collection of objects was then assembled into a single sculptural piece, forming a daily artifact. These completed daily objects were exhibited alongside a set of books, which included photographs and records detailing the original location, shape, and position of each found item.

After the exhibition, each object was returned to its original neighborhood, placing them back into the environments from which they came—completing a cycle of collection, transformation, and return.
